About Us

Вітаємо !  Welcome to Chaban Ukrainian Dance Regina

Perpetuating the richness and beauty of Ukrainian Dance, the Chaban Ukrainian Dance Association Inc. is proud to keep the Ukrainian Culture alive. Chaban has been in existence for over 40 years and is the longest running Ukrainian Dance group in Regina. At Chaban we expose our dancers to vast amounts of Ukrainian culture by annually participating in events such as Malanka, Mosaic as well as competitions and performances within the area.
Chaban is a non-profit organization which works with the families to help keep dancing affordable for all. Costuming is provided for dancers, and parents have the opportunity to participate in a variety of fundraising activities. Chaban is a volunteer-run and we are dependent on the generosity of its families and supporters in the community to assist us in purchasing our beautiful costuming and our programs. In supporting our fundraising, you are supporting your child. We encourage and welcome the involvement of all parents as volunteers. If you have a particular interest please make it known to a Chaban Board member or email our Chaban email account at ChabanRegina@gmail.com.
Chaban instructors encourage fun and enthusiasm in each class. Chaban School welcomes dancers of all ages with our youngest dancers at age 3 to our adult classes.
Chaban dancers consistently receive high marks at competitions and have received many awards for their performance and choreography.

HONOURING THE LEGACY - FOSTERING PRIDE - INSPIRING TO SERVE

2020 Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards
Nominations Re-opened - New deadline: Tuesday, June 30th

One of the things that we have learned from this COVID-19 pandemic is just how important it is to thank the members of our community who always seem to go out of their way to do good things.

They are our neighbours, our friends, our mentors, our leaders. These women and men, young and old, not only carry our culture and our identity, but also they share it, they teach it, they celebrate it and they instil our pride in it.

UCC Saskatchewan’s Recognitions Program serves to: acknowledge the meritorious contributions of Saskatchewan Ukrainians who have made a lasting impact on Saskatchewan and Canada; preserve our place in the history of our province and country; and, foster pride in our Ukrainian Canadian identity and achievements while inspiring others, including youth and newcomers, to serve and contribute to their communities.

During this time of uncertainty, let’s work to celebrate the worthy contributions of our community’s volunteers and leaders.

For more information on how you can nominate someone for this year’s Awards, please visit www.ucc.sk.ca/en/articles/625-covid-2019-ucc-saskatchewan-update-15may-nbcra

Note: Nominations already received do not need to be resubmitted
