2020 Marks the 47th Year for Chaban Ukrainian Dance Regina

Category : What's New!

Chaban Ukrainian Dance Regina was founded in 1973, making it the longest running dance group in the City of Regina! Throughout the years the organization has evolved to become one of the top dance schools in Regina, keeping the Ukrainian culture alive through music, traditional costuming and dance.  We are so excited for the year ahead.  New dancers, new choreography, new costumes from Ukraine!

Chaban is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that provides their dancers with multiple performance opportunities throughout the year at their annual Malanka, senior residences, as well as participation in community outreach events such as Mosaic, A Festival of Cultures, Ukrainian Fall Fest, Telemiracle, and more. Dancers also partake in festivals and competitions both in Regina and out of town. Chaban is a family-focused, fun organization that welcomes dancers of all ages, cultures, and abilities.

Proud of our past, excited for our future.  Come join us, be part of our Chaban Family – contact us today!  email us: chabanregina@gmail.com

2020 Nation Builders & Community Recognition Awards
Nominations Re-opened - New deadline: Tuesday, June 30th

One of the things that we have learned from this COVID-19 pandemic is just how important it is to thank the members of our community who always seem to go out of their way to do good things.

They are our neighbours, our friends, our mentors, our leaders. These women and men, young and old, not only carry our culture and our identity, but also they share it, they teach it, they celebrate it and they instil our pride in it.

UCC Saskatchewan’s Recognitions Program serves to: acknowledge the meritorious contributions of Saskatchewan Ukrainians who have made a lasting impact on Saskatchewan and Canada; preserve our place in the history of our province and country; and, foster pride in our Ukrainian Canadian identity and achievements while inspiring others, including youth and newcomers, to serve and contribute to their communities.

During this time of uncertainty, let’s work to celebrate the worthy contributions of our community’s volunteers and leaders.

For more information on how you can nominate someone for this year’s Awards, please visit www.ucc.sk.ca/en/articles/625-covid-2019-ucc-saskatchewan-update-15may-nbcra
